Sofia Hasmik is a first-generation American actress who found her passion for performing through figure skating. Coming from an immigrant family she felt there was an added pressure to make something of herself, and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara for business studies. However, it was there that she rediscovered her love for the arts, leading to her being recommended to audition for the university!s Bachelor in Fine Arts program. The conservatory-style program was rigorous and set the tone for the hard work ahead. Hasmik graduated with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts with an emphasis on Acting. Hasmik has remained dedicated to her craft and has been steadily working ever since continuing her training under her acting coach, Marjorie Ballentine.
Before Hasmik landed "Superman & Lois” she honed her craft with a handful of recurring and guest role appearances in film and television, appearing in Netflix!s "All The Bright Places” in 2020 and the popular Helen Hunt + Paul Reiser revival series "Mad About You,” in 2019.
Hasmik!s biggest inspiration in her life is her brother who has been diagnosed with down syndrome. She credits him as being one of the key reasons she has the stamina to keep pushing through the peaks and valleys of working in the entertainment industry. Her meaningful relationship with him grounds her, inspires her, and very often reminds her of the importance of staying present in life.
