Leila George is an Australian-born, British- American raised actress living in New York.
Her debut role was in an Australian production of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, where she played the ingenue Nina opposite her mother, Greta Scacchi, as Arkadina.
Later came the Peter Jackson-produced Mortal Engines, and The Kid (directed by her father Vincent D’Onofrio) which co-starred Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke and Dane DeHaan.
In 2019 she was cast in TNT’s Animal Kingdom, where she played the younger version of Ellen Barkin’s Janine.
Next up is Patricia Arquette’s directorial debut Gonzo Girl (currently in post-production), which co-stars Camila Morrone, Ray Nicholson and Willem Dafoe.
The biggest step in her career has been starring in the Alfonso Cuarón psychological thriller series Disclaimer for Apple TV+ with Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Set to be released later this year.
Also in post-production is 'He Ain’t Heavy', a West Australia-set drama by first time feature director David Vincent Smith starring George, mother Greta Scacchi and Sam Corlett.
When not acting, George is passionate about supporting humanitarian efforts and fighting climate change. She has worked with CORE Response, a non-profit organization that offers disaster relief and humanitarian aid to affected areas around the world. In March 2022 she volunteered at Ukrainian refugee centers set up by CORE in Poland that assisted displaced people as they crossed the border. In the past she has also hosted fundraisers in support of youth-led organization Future Coalition and the Black Summer bushfires.
